Rwanda Climate Change and Development Network (RCCDN) called its member for active involvement in environment protection and climate change and advocate for professionalism in mining that mainstreaming environment.
The RCCDN Coordinator, Faustin Vuningoma presented the findings of RCCDN study conducted in 2021, the study focused analyzed the Rwanda mining policy of 2010 vis-a vis the Environment and Climate Change Policy in order to identify any mismatch and gaps as a precursor to inform actions required for better mainstreaming and alignment of the two policies.
The findings presented in the analysis report highlight important gaps in the mining policy that require to be addressed in new mining policy.
Mr. Narcisse DUSHIMINAMA inspector in Rwanda Mining Board (RMB) who was the guest of honor, told the participants that the mining has a huge opportunity for Rwanda economy and the environment issues will be addressed thought new policy and laws enforcement.
Better Future for Generations (BFG) is a youth-led organization registered under RGB with the No. 58/RGB/NGO/2016 and with the mission of promoting youth, women, people with disabilities, and vulnerable people’s inclusion in socio-economic activities by enabling them to be self-employed and protecting their rights. BFG joined RCCN in 2020 to strengthen the climate change and environment protection.
