Civil Society Organization called for Climate change interventions

Member States reached an agreement that the United Nations Secretary-General called an important step in addressing climate change during 26th UN Climate Conference.

Rwanda is committed to protecting the environment and addressing climate change, and has a vision to be a climate resilient and carbon neutral economy by 2050. The country is working to achieve its 2030 goal of reducing emissions by 38% by engaging with partners, both nationally and internationally, to attract sustainable green investment.

Rwanda Climate Change & Development Network (RCCND) is umbrella of 67 civil society’s organization that works on climate change and environment issues with mission to advocate, coordination and voice of its members.

On 22 December 2022, RCCDN Chair Person called for climate change interventions, it was in workshop that brought together RCCDN members. In his remarks the Chairperson of RCCDN Eugene RWIBASIRA told the participant to actively planning with climate change and environment protection that will contribute to Rwanda vision and perspectives.

Better Future for Generation (BFG) contributes to climate change mitigation and environment protection through capacity building, community awareness, preparation of Imirima y’Igikoni and tree planting.
